I am a firm believer in full-spectrum cannabis products. Some cannabis consumers are only focused on THC levels, and that’s fine. If you want all the benefits of the cannabis plant, however, you want to look for a full-spectrum product. Don’t be afraid of words like “terpenes” or “entourage effect;” they’re just as important as THC and/or CBD content.
Jack the Ripper
No, I’m not planning to stalk the streets of London at night mutilating prostitutes. Jack the Ripper is the name of the strain from Saucey Farms & Extracts I decided to try. Saucey describes their Jack the Ripper as:
Jack the Ripper is a zesty citrus-sweet strain. It has just the right amount of Limonene terpene for a fresh, bright lemon scent and a mellow high that starts deep in the body and spreads quickly outward. The flavor is reminiscent of Lemonheads candies: a little bit sour and a whole lot of sweet. You’ll enjoy a relaxed, buzzy sensation with an elevated mood and a renewed sense of creativity. Jack the Ripper is especially beneficial as a daytime strain and will keep you motivated and energized all day long.
When used for medicinal purposes, Jack the Ripper alleviates anxiety, stimulates full-body relaxation, combats depression and nausea, and stimulates the appetite.

My Verdict
I’ve been enjoying my Jack the Ripper cartridge for about a week and a half now, and I feel its description is pretty accurate.
- Flavor/Scent – Jack the Ripper has a pleasant citrus taste I enjoy. It’s not as harsh as sucking on a lemon, but it’s definitely there. Plus, it doesn’t leave your area with that lingering “weed smell.”
- Effects – Because I struggle with anxiety, I usually stay away from sativas or sativa-heavy hybrids. However, since their description specifically mentioned that it’s a good treatment for depression, I decided to give it a shot. To my delight, it didn’t trigger an anxiety attack or severe depressive state. I felt a general sense of well-being and relaxation. It didn’t give me the giggles or make me couch-locked; it did brighten my mood and general outlook on things. Jack the Ripper is definitely a daytime strain, but it can also be good for going out and socializing. I don’t recommend it if you’re trying to fall asleep.
I’ve been enjoying some Jack the Ripper on my way to and from work. It helps me get going in the morning and wind down after work. It definitely helps make my evening commute tolerable. If you’re like me and not a morning person at all, Jack the Ripper can act like a quick cup of coffee without the jittery side effects.
